“Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations”
Never stop exploring. Exploration can broaden the mind, it can inspire us, it can give us ideas and help us discover new things. Why stick to what you know? The option to explore offers itself to us on a daily basis, you just need to brave enough to take the opportunity. Exploration is more than travel; you can bring exploration into your daily life.
Physical exploration. Most people when confronted with the word ‘explore’ first think of adventures overseas, finding new favourite cities all over the world and travel in general. But you don’t have to travel thousands of miles to explore; you can do that in your own home town.
This beautiful location in the photographs is in my home town and is beyond fascinating. You can walk alongside the tops of the trees and feel like you are in a different world. Ever since being shown this magical place when I was young, I have loved coming back to explore what I may have forgotten over the years.
If you are a runner, run a new route. If you walk your dog daily, find somewhere new to go. You never know what is outside of your house until you go looking for it.
Emotional exploration. Sometimes we just need to stop and think about how we are feeling. This is what I have found myself doing throughout 2017 and it has resulted in me feeling more in control of my life than ever before. There seems to be a trend of ‘being busy’ right now but is that necessarily a good thing?
This post is going up in the midst of Self Care Week 2017 which promotes the importance of taking care of yourself both mentally and physically and knowing how to do so. Reviewing how we are feeling on a weekly or even daily basis could see you improve your own life by prioritising what you deem to be important to you and your wellbeing.
For me this year I started counselling which has helped me see massive improvements not only with my anxiety but with my self confidence too. It is just one coping method that I decided to start this year and has already made big changes.
If you find yourself feeling stressed on a daily basis, stop and seek out the root of this emotion. Can you change or eliminate the cause? Are there ways to improve it? Do you need to take care of yourself more?
“A comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there.”
Explore everything. Don’t get too comfortable in your comfort zone or you will never realise your potential. You could be completely dismissing something you could fall completely in love with. Say yes more, find new things to try and meet new people.
Exploration can be a vital part of growth and learning what we want from our life.
Lorna Jane has The Active Life philosophy which encourages moving, nourishing and believing everyday. Wake up with intention, choose a more positive outlook and create a more positive future are just some of the aspects I love about their Move Nourish Believe mantra.
We can all be so much more and have happier lives if we explore what we want and who we truly want to be. Never stop exploring.
